Description

Student and elderly protesters turned out at a rally in downtown Hong Kong on Saturday.

Secondary school students and the so-called 'silver-haired' movement joined forces to show inter-generational support for the opposition's demands.

The authorised rally in Chater Garden in Central followed last weekend's election results, when the opposition to control fo 17 out of 18 district councils.

Pop group Boyz Reborn, whose lead singer Ben Chan was arrested in October, performed at the rally. Masked demonstrators raised their hands and sung along to the tune.

Hong Kong has been rocked by protests sparked by the now-withdrawn extradition bill since March.
