Description

The Russian delegation was seen leaving their hotel ahead of the meeting between US President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Geneva on Wednesday.

A heavy police presence stood guard outside the hotel, as members of the Russian delegation gathered outside the entrance, before being taken away in cars and vans.

The summit, which takes place at the historic 18th-century villa overlooking Lake Geneva, is the first meeting between the two presidents since Biden took office in January.

Lavrov and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will join the leaders for part of the meeting, according to officials.
