Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi was met by French President Emmanuel Macron as he arrived at the Hotel du Palais in Biarritz where the G7 summit is being held, Sunday.

Sisi is the current chair of the African Union and is reportedly due to deliver a speech at the summit focusing on Africa's relations with the G7 countries.

The G7 summit kicked off on Saturday, August 24 and will run until August 26. The summit's agenda is reported to include; tackling global inequality, the US-China trade dispute, the Hong Kong protests and the climate crisis.
