The Israeli delegation for talks in Doha includes Mossad chief David Barnea, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and IDF hostage negotiator Nitzan Alon, reported local media.

Fighting between Israel and Hamas in Gaza broke out after the Palestinian group launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel on October 7, killing 1,139 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping over 200, according to Israeli officials.

In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army launched a large-scale campaign of air strikes and ground incursion, killing at least 38,295 and injuring more than 88,241 others, at the time of publication.
