Gibraltar residents reacted to the annoucement of a last-minute deal between the UK and Spain on the territory's status in relation to Brexit, speaking on Friday. The agreement which allows free movement on the border of the British enclave was reached on Thursday.

"It's good on both sides. Yeah, it's a good thing. It's a shame we are leaving the EU but having an open border with Spain its great Idea," said one resident.

"It's again, not something we involve ourselves with. We keep our heads down and we just work and go one way. We don't have a home over there, we don't really have family. All our families here and we just stay here," said another one.

The agreement states that the British Overseas Territory in the south of the Iberian Peninsula will follow the rules of the Schengen area with Spain being a guarantor of its compliance.
