The UN nuclear agency’s (IAEA) chief said dialogue was ‘badly needed’ with the new government in Iran, speaking at a news conference in Vienna on Monday, a day after his trip to Tehran.

“I did not get any promises, one thing I got is the agreement that this is something that needs to be done and this is why I hope to be very soon in Tehran to have this type of conversation which is badly needed,” said Grossi.

During his trip to Tehran on Sunday, Grossi reached an agreement with Iran’s newly-appointed atomic chief to prevent further obstacles to restoring the 2015 nuclear deal.
