Description

The Israeli army on Saturday released footage of a strike against a 'Hezbollah underground facility' as houses were reportedly bombed and demolished in the Nabatieh governorate near the border with Israel.

Footage shows massive explosions at what the IDF claimed to be a '1.5 kilometre-long facility' storing weapons and equipment that offered shelter to hundreds of Hezbollah militants over extended periods of time.

Earlier the IDF announced that Israeli warplanes struck more than 70 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon including "positions for anti-tank missiles, terrorist infrastructure, weapons storage buildings, terrorist cells, and command centres."

The powerful explosions were heard in the areas of Marjeyoun and Nabatieh and houses on the outskirts of Adaysseh were bombed and demolished according to a media report.

For its part, Hezbollah launched more than 200 rockets from Lebanon toward Israel throughout the day.

Israel has conducted a ground incursion into parts of southern Lebanon, as well as an ongoing campaign of airstrikes on Hezbollah targets since last month. Lebanon's Ministry of Health stated that over 2,600 had been killed and over 12,000 injured at time of publication.

The current escalation between Israel and Hezbollah began with explosions of wireless communications devices used by Hezbollah, which killed dozens and injured thousands. The sides have exchanged cross-border strikes since the outbreak of the 2023 Gaza war.
