Hundreds of protesters marched through central Berlin on Sunday to demand fair presidential elections for Belarus and denounce incumbent leader Aleksander Lukashenko as millions of Belarusians have gone to polling stations.
Protesters could be seen marching and later gathering at Berlin's iconic Brandenburg Gate with banners reading, "Stop killing Belarus" and "26 years are enough. Goodbye Lukashenko." Many were also carrying the former Belarusian flag, that was replaced in 1995. It is seen as many as a symbol of opposition.
Incumbent Alexander Lukashenko is running for a sixth term in office, having won every presidential election since independence in the 1990s.
Alongside him, five other candidates are running for office, including Svetlana Tikhanovskaya - the country's opposition leader.
