IDF Chief of the General Staff Hartzi Halevi was seen discussing the country's Northern Command with members of the General Staff Forum, as well as offensives and defences plans, according to the Israeli military in footage published on Thursday.
“The rule is that every time we work on a certain stage, the next two stages are already ready to advance. At each stage, the price for Hezbollah must be high,” Halevi said.
"We are very determined to create the security conditions that will return the residents to their homes, to the communities, with a high level of security, and we are ready to do all that is required to bring about these things,” he added.
Halevi emphasised that the two main goals in Gaza were 'dismantling Hamas and returning the hostages'.
This comes after Hezbollah accused Israel of staging mass wireless device blasts across Lebanon on Tuesday and Wednesday, with more than 30 killed and over 3,000 injured.
Israel had not commented on the attacks at time of publication.
On Wednesday, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said the war’s 'centre of gravity' was moving north in a 'new phase'. The IDF stated it had moved one of its units, namely the 98th Division, from the Gaza Strip to the border with Lebanon.
The Israeli army has been exchanging cross-border shelling with Hezbollah, Lebanese and Palestinian factions since October 8, 2023, one day after the Israel-Hamas war broke out.
