Description

Widespread damage was seen surrounding Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza Strip on Saturday after the Israeli forces withdrew from the hospital complex wrapping up a raid that began on Thursday evening.

The footage reveals extensive devastation, showcasing a heavily damaged building, burnt debris, and emergency ambulances. Catastrophic scenes unfolded within the hospital, where medical equipment was in disarray and injured individuals were crammed into the corridors alongside patients.

According to Gaza Health Ministry, Israeli forces have withdrawn from Kamal Adwan Hospital after detaining dozens of medics and some patients, and causing widespread damage to one of the last functioning hospitals in northern Gaza.

"They came into Kamal Adwan Hospital and destroyed everything; not a single room was spared. They took all the medical staff, destroyed and searched everything. <...> All the medical staff were detained," Maha Abu Hussein, a displaced living in the hospital recounted.

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated on Friday that the organization has "lost contact with the staff" at Kamal Adwan hospital since the recent raid.

According to health officials, the hospital is experiencing a shortage of supplies and urgently requires assistance as casualties from nearby regions arrive due to Israel's intensified military actions in the northern areas.

Hamas-Israel war broke out after Hamas launched an attack on southern Israel on October 7, killing 1,139 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping over 200 and held in Gaza Strip.

In the enclave, Israel military conducted a large-scale campaign of air strikes and ground incursions, killing at least 42,924 Palestinians and injuring more than 100,833  injured at the time of publication.
