One American fan, who had dyed her hair pink inspired by star USA team captain Megan Rapinoe, spoke about the player, saying “I like Megan Rapinoe because she stands for what she believes in and I agree with her, I believe America has a big racism problem and somebody with her platform should be able to speak up about it without repercussions.”
The USA team are the reigning World Cup champions while Dutch team won the Women's Euro in 2017.
