A group of activists from 'Uprising of the Last Generation' (Aufstand der letzten Generation) blocked the A103 and A114 motorways in Berlin, on Monday, under the slogan 'Save food – save lives,' as part of their campaign for sustainable agriculture and against food waste.
Traffic jams were created due to the action, as seen in footage recorded in motorway A114.
Police units arrived on site and quickly tried to push the activists out of the motorway lanes, but they resisted with sit-ins and had to be forcefully dragged out by police officers to reestablish the circulation of cars.
Journalists were present filming the events and interviewed the activists and police officers.
The group announced that they would continue with their actions until reaching the passing of a law to prevent food waste and in favour of sustainable agriculture.
