Bolsonaro in turn said that he was an long-time Trump admirer, adding that he supports Trump's "upcoming re-election."

Answering a question about Venezuela, Trump denied that the US momentum in the country has fizzled out, adding: "Things take time. But we are behind a certain group of people, you know who the people are. We are behind the people of Venezuela. This is who we are really behind, more than anything else."

The 14th G20 summit will see world leaders discuss the most important financial and economic issues of the day. Trade, climate change and international crises look set to be top of the agenda. A number of bilateral talks will also take place on the sidelines of the summit.
