Footage from the Cityplaza shopping mall in Hong Kong on Sunday, shows the aftermath of a knife attack, which left four people injured before the assailant reportedly bit a fifth person's ear.

A district councillor identified as Andrew Chiu Ka-yin had his ear partially bitten off by the knife wielding attacker.

Some of the victims were taken to hospital as the police cordoned off the area and arrested the suspect.

Hong Kong has been rocked by protests sparked by a now-withdrawn extradition bill since the end of March. The rallies later evolved into a wider movement against the government, marked by months of clashes between protesters and the authorities.
