Leader of the FDP Christian Lindner said that his party had agreed to formal 'traffic light' coalition negotiations with the SPD and Greens, during a statement in Berlin on Monday.
"We had a very intense two and a half hour discussion. We talked about what is on the table in writing and we also assessed the public debates and statements from the last few days and hours. We see opportunities, but we also see challenges in the present political constellation," he said.
"At the end of an intensive round of discussions, however, we unanimously decided, in this very large body, to begin coalition talks with the SPD and the Greens," he added.
