Drone footage showcased an ancient Mesopotamian site in Ur, in modern-day Dhi Qar Governorate in Iraq on Friday where Pope Francis is due to hold an inter-religious service.
The footage shows the ancient site, once home to the prophet Abraham, comprising of a pyramid-style Ziggurat and an adjacent residential complex. Temples and palaces also adorn the place estimated to have been built around 1900 BC. The site was excavated around 100 years ago.
