Israeli police officers were seen pushing back protesters gathered in East Jerusalem on Friday as they protested against the eviction of a Palestinian family from Sheikh Jarrah in the coming weeks.
Footage shows one protester being arrested as well as Israeli police confiscating Palestinian flags.
"The police at first only blocked us from reaching to Salem family, a week ago or two weeks ago they didn't block us but now they decided to block us even from entering the yard and decided to remove our free speech to protest, moreover they always capture our flags forcibly and they take the flags from us, Palestine flags," said protester Eyal Kotner.
Family members and supporters who rallied in solidarity with the family participated in a small-scale march, holding signs and Palestinian flags.
The eviction order handed to the Salem family has been delayed and will likely be reissued in January 2022.
The Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood has become a strong point of contention as Israeli and Palestinian locals have contested the ownership of properties in the East Jerusalem neighbourhood.
