Lebanese Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah gave a speech to a Beirut audience from an undisclosed location on Monday to mark the second anniversary of top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani's killing.

Speaking to the audience, Nasrallah warned that people "must take a firm stance not for the martyr, but for themselves, their consciousness, insights, battles, futures, and their true positions that they must stand firmly on," adding, "America killed, tortured, imprisoned, displaced, destroyed, stole, tyrannised and has continued to tyrannise in Iraq in its skies and on its lands."

Soleimani was killed in a US airstrike at Baghdad's international airport, together with the deputy leader of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Mohammed Ali Ebrahimi, also known as Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis on January 3, 2020.

The Pentagon released a statement confirming the US had carried out the airstrike at the order of its then US President Donald Trump, calling it a "decisive defensive action to protect US personnel abroad."
