The investigators can be seen inspecting the surroundings of the bar with flashlights, collecting samples in bags and placing evidence markers on the floor. Police officers and firefighters can also be seen deployed on site overseeing the procedures.
Late on Wednesday a gunman reportedly opened fire outside one shisha bar in the city's Heumarkt district and drove off to a second location in the Kesselstadt district where he opened fire again killing nine people and injuring several others.
According to reports, the suspect was a 43-year-old German citizen from Hanau. Together with his 72-year-old mother, he was found dead at his address in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The Federal Prosecutor has taken over the investigation while the motive behind the attacks remains unclear.
