A New Year's tradition took place in Rome on Friday, with people choosing to celebrate by jumping off the Cavour Bridge into the Tiber river.
River high waters and rain did not deter the jumpers, one of whom - Maurizio Palmulli, or Mister Ok - is a regular at jumping into the Tiber, come rain or shine.
The jumpers were accompanied by the police and fire brigade. The latter were on hand in a boat to assist the jumpers once they were in the water.
