Several people were killed when houses collapsed in Erftstadt-Blessem amid floods which also forced the closure of the A1 motorway in the region.
Footage filmed on Friday shows flooded houses while locals recovering water-damaged belongings attempted to dry them out. Large flooded areas were still blocked off to the public.
At least 103 people were killed and more than 1,000 were missing after the floods hit parts of western Germany.
