Description

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, held a parade on Saturday in Gaza City.

The military parade was the first to be held to celebrate the ceasefire with Israel.

Holding machine guns and other weapons, the brigades' soldiers were seen marching down the streets of Gaza, starting from Mukhabarat Street in the south of the city all the way to the house of the wing's commander, Bassem Issa. The parade also passed by the houses of deceased victims, whose photos were displayed in the cars accompanying the march.

A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was agreed upon on Thursday with the mediation of Egypt after 11 days of escalation. The fighting led to 248 fatalities on the Palestinian side and 12 on the Israeli side, according to the respective authorities.
