Description

The G20 finance ministers' summit began in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires on Monday with an array of topics up for discussion, including infrastructure, the future of the workplace and cryptocurrencies.

However, the most pressing issue on the agenda will be US President Donald Trump's newly implemented steel and aluminium tariffs, which threaten widespread repercussions for some of the world's largest economies including China.

Trump's plans have come under fire from the US's G20 partners.

The topics will be discussed between Monday and Tuesday in the presence 22 finance ministers from various countries, 17 presidents of central banks and ten CEOs of international organisations, including the head of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde.

The meeting is taking place in the City Exhibition Centre (CEC) and the security operation mounted in the vicinity will cause traffic disruption in the neighbourhood of Recoleta.
