٠٠:٠٣:٥٣The European Union's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said that the nuclear talks with Iran would resume in Vienna 'soon' and within an 'acceptable' timeline, speaking at a news conference in Doha on Thursday.
"As coordinator of these talks, I am convinced that the talks will resume in a timeline that will be acceptable for everybody," said Borrell.
Borrell spoke after holding a bilateral meeting with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
"[We are] continuing to push for positive progress on the talks of the JCPOA, and bringing it back together, to restore it and to ensure that we have a de-nuclearised region. We do not want to see an arms race in our region. That is our object," said Qatar's Foreign Minister.
The two diplomats also addressed the current situation in Afghanistan.
Qatar's Foreign Minister said the Taliban's actions on women and girls' education in Afghanistan are 'very disappointing,' and 'a step backward,' urging the group to take Qatar as an example of running an Islamic system-based country.
