Iran has provided Ukrainian experts access to the black boxes and debris of the Boeing 737 plane that crashed near Tehran this week, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko stated at a briefing in Kiev on Friday.

“Now our team has access to the black boxes, which we plan to negotiate on soon. We have also gained access to the records of the dispatchers from the flight control centre at Tehran airport and of our pilots,“ he said, adding that Ukraine wants for the black boxes to be analysed in Kiev.

The minister stated that Ukraine was looking at all possible versions of the crash.

“Our main task is to establish the causes of this tragedy in a completely fair and impartial manner, and if there is someone at fault, we need to find it out,” he stated.

Prystaiko said as well that Ukrainian team at the crash site could not verify reports that Iran had reportedly used bulldozers to clear away debris, potentially destroying evidence.

“The bulldozer photos, our team that is there, in this place, doesn't confirm these photos, but they [team] are right there,“ he stated.

A total of 176 people died when the Ukrainian International Airlines (UIA) flight PS752 crashed shortly after taking off from Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport on Wednesday.

Western leaders have said that an Iranian missile may have caused the downing of the UIA Boeing 737-800, possibly in error. Tehran denied that a missile strike from its air defence systems was responsible.
