Scottish craft beer company 'Brewdog' has brought back its promotion of offering a free pint of its Punk IPA beer to anyone who casts their ballot in the UK general election on Thursday, footage from Brewdog's Soho branch in London shows.

Brewdog will offer the free pint to anyone that shows the staff a selfie of themselves outside a polling station, while postal voters can claim their free pint by showing their postal registration confirmation email to any of the 50 Brewdog pubs across the UK.

The campaign, called #Votepunk, started at the 2017 general elections. Manager of the Brewdog Soho branch said "that campaign was so successful, we gave out thousands of pints, over one thousand in this pub alone, that we thought that we had to bring it back this year." He said that the public had urged the company to bring back the campaign for the 2019 election.

Polling stations opened at 07:00 GMT in 650 constituencies across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Results are expected to start coming in after polls close at 22:00 GMT.

This is the UK's third general election in less than five years.
