To celebrate the end of Ramadan, workers in both public and private sectors have been given official five-day holidays, which this year became nine days off in total due to the weekends. In the run-up to the holiday, residents were seen buying gifts and treats to celebrate, with local markets seeing large crowds.

Eid al-Fitr comes at the end of the holy month of Ramadan and is one of the main religious holidays of Islam. Eid al-Fitr is marked on April 10-12 in UAE this year.
