Description

Dozens of protesters gathered at a Hong Kong shopping centre on Friday after several prominent opposition activists were arrested last week.

The protesters were seen chanting slogans and warned the authorities that they would revive the protest movement that rocked the territory last year.

"Our will to quest for democracy, freedom and justice are not reduced by the coronavirus," said one of the protest's organisers.

The activists concluded the demonstration singing "Glory to Hong Kong", which became an anthem of the protest movement.

Last Saturday, over a dozen prominent Hong Kong opposition activists were arrested for their alleged participation in unauthorised protests in 2019.

The detentions came while COVID-19 quarantine measures, including a ban on public gatherings, were still in place.
