German Foreign Ministry spokesperson Christofer Burger said that refugees would be able to obtain visa appointments promptly at German diplomatic outposts in countries neighbouring Afghanistan during a press conference held in Berlin on Monday.

“Everyone who makes it to a German representation in one of the surrounding countries, gets a more or less immediate appointment to apply for a visa, and that the visas are quickly granted on the requirements from the BMI (Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community)”, explained Burger.

Burger also spoke on the reopening of negotiations with Iran and the E3 nations concerning the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, with demands from the Iranian government to “follow up their words with actions” in regards to the scheduling of negotiations.
