Demonstrators descended on the streets of Sao Paulo on Saturday, for the 'Scream of the Excluded' march on Brazil's Independence Day.
Rally-goers hit the streets in defence of the Amazon rainforest and to protest the Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, among other issues.
"We will not waver in our duty not to accept the dismantling of the national state, not to accept the attack on education and retirement, not to accept the attack on the Brazilian environment, the attack on the Amazon. We will not give up on defending Brazil and we will continue to fight in
defence of our country," said a protester.
