Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh demanded that the US lift all sanctions imposed on Iran during a weekly press conference on Monday in Tehran, as well as assurance that it would not abandon a nuclear deal again if revived.

"As a party that has left the JCPOA and is not a member of the JCPOA, must first prove that it is committed to lifting sanctions, that it has the capacity, and that it will provide the necessary guarantees that in the future, international law, countries, and all agreements would not be ridiculed in this way," stated Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh, referring to former US President Trump's withdrawal of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

November 29 has been set as the date to restart talks in Vienna between Iran and world powers in hopes of saving the 2015 JCPOA after a five-month suspension.

"As long as the Islamic Republic of Iran is not certain that the unilateral, extraterritorial and illegal US sanctions will be lifted in a unified, effective, verifiable manner and with the necessary guarantees, objective guarantees, it will not suspend its retaliatory measures," Khatibzadeh went on to say.
