Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that the statement about "beauty" and Ukraine was not personal. The head of state spoke about this during a joint press conference with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokaev in Moscow on Thursday.

"It did not have any personal dimension, I must say frankly. I have never gone personal in my work for many years,” stated Putin.

The Russian leader stressed that the words spoken during a press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron referred to the fact that international agreements must be implemented.

"The only question is that when we hear such comments from the head of state that we like something and dislike something in fundamental agreements that regulate very important relations between countries in terms of security, including Ukraine itself, then it seems to me that this is not the right format. Suppose the state has assumed certain obligations, especially those enshrined in the norms of international law, in UN Security Council Resolution 2202, in my opinion. In that case, everyone needs to fulfil and agree on how to do this,” added the head of state.

Summing up the results of negotiations with the President of Kazakhstan, Putin noted Tokayev's firm position on the issue of "an act of terrorist aggression committed with the direct participation of destructive forces inside and outside,” which took place in the republic in January.

"Thanks to the firm position of President Tokayev and the resolute support of Russia, all the allies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, in the shortest possible time it was possible to take control over the situation, restore law, order, return peace and tranquillity to Kazakhstani land Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich is doing everything to normalize the situation finally. We see that life in Kazakhstan has returned to a stable, calm course."

In addition, the Russian leader stressed the importance of cooperation with the neighbouring state during the pandemic. According to Putin, an impressive troop of medical personnel and humanitarian supplies have been sent to Kazakhstan and the production of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.

"More than six million components of the first and second doses of this drug have been produced. In addition, deliveries of the Sputnik Light vaccine to Kazakhstan have begun, which can also be used as a booster for various vaccines,” the president concluded.
