"This spontaneous ‘self-organisation’ of society, the beginning of the so-called 'revolution', the ‘illegitimacy' of presidential elections, and so on - all of these are myths. They are completely not corresponding to the in-depth analysis of the events that occurred long before the election campaign of this year," he said.
According to Lukashenko, the current situation in Belarus is not ‘something unexpected or new,' and that "older people remember other situations in Belarus, when thousands of people took to the streets in the '90s, overturning cars and burning them, or throwing Molotov cocktails not in boutiques and shops, but in people’s windows."
Reports say the meeting was attended by Belarusian deputies and administration officials, members of the Council of the Republic, as well as the heads of several major Belarusian media outlets.
