Description

Dozens of supporters of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party gathered in Frankfurt (Oder) on Sunday to hold a demonstration calling for border controls and deportations.

Several protesters were also seen holding signs and banners decrying planned mandatory vaccinations and criticising measures put in place by the German government to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

The demonstration marched towards the Oder river and held a rally there, where speeches were given and counter demonstrators were present.

The demonstration comes amid ongoing tensions at the border between Poland and Belarus, where hundreds of migrants have attempted to cross into the European Union.
