Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to return residents of northern Israel to their homes in a statement from Jerusalem on Wednesday, which followed two days of explosions across Lebanon.

"I have already said: we will return the people of the north to their safe homes. That is what we will do," he said.

He did not comment on the blasts involving electronic devices in Lebanon. Tuesday saw mass pager detonations, while Wednesday saw a spate of hand-held radios and solar energy systems explode.

According to Lebanon's Health Ministry, 20 people were killed and 450 injured on Wednesday, while the previous day, 12 were confirmed dead and nearly 3,000 wounded.

Hezbollah attributed the explosions to Israel, while the country has not commented.
