Farm workers were seen recovering after an Israeli army patrol reportedly used 'smoke bombs' in the Lebanese Marjayoun plains border area on Thursday.

Footage shows smoke emerging from a field.

"We were working, we came here to work as usual, then they hit us and we ran away. Our eyes were blinded. They hit us with smoke bombs. Everyone was shocked, we could not see anything with our eyes. The girls were shocked, just like everyone else," said one of farm workers.

No casualties were reported in the apparent attack.

Several United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) armoured vehicles were seen in the area following the incident.
