Description

Three were killed and several injured in at least two attacks took place in Jalalabad on Wednesday.

Bullets holes and debris from the exploded bomb can be seen in footage recorded Wednesday.

Residents described how the Taliban were attempting to secure the area before at least one bomb exploded.

"I come out from home to see the situation, the Taliban said knock the door because we are going to check the security camera, I knocked the door and by the second explosion I think one person was killed and one was injured and we have moved to the hospital," Jalalabad resident Nasir said.

An injured resident stated, "children said that there is a bomb, then the owner of a home came and checked that there was a bomb, then they reported to the Taliban, when they called Taliban, the Taliban arrived and blocked the area."

"They used a wastebasket and attached the bomb inside and drop it near a home, then the people said bring something to see if it is a bomb or not, so I was on the way to bring something suddenly it exploded," he added.

The Jalalabad resident also said a member of the Taliban was amongst those injured. "There were two people injured. One was a Mujahid member and other one was a labourer, both of them are injured," he concluded.

The Taliban has denied their members were harmed in the attacks.

Three people were also shot dead in the Ghawchak district of the city, where a gunman reportedly fired from a rickshaw at a Taliban checkpoint, according to the Taliban.

The Jalalabad province, has long been the base of operations for ISIS offshoot group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant – Khorasan Province (ISIS-K). Two people were killed this past weekend in bomb attacks perpetrated by ISIS-K.

No group has confirmed responsibility for Wednesday's attacks as of yet.
