Description

Workers installed tarps and nets on Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on Tuesday, to secure the cathedral’s structure and protect it against further damage from rain expected in the evening.

Footage shows workers on top of the cathedral, performing various tasks while cranes remove statues from the roof. Onlookers also gathered and left flowers in front of Notre Dame.

A temporary tarp has been installed on the roof, and workers placed safety nets in front of the rosettes in the morning. Although the rosettes were not destroyed in the fire, the nets are meant to prevent glass from falling on public roads, were further damage to occur.
