Protesters condemned the assassination of Iranian Quds General Qassem Soleimani in a US airstrike at a mass rally in Hodeidah on Tuesday.

Footage shows protesters carrying banners depicting slain General Soleimani and Iraqi deputy leader of Iraq's Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) Mohammed Ali Ebrahimi, also known as Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

"The martyrs who have been killed at the hands of those who know no dignity or honour, martyr Qasem Soleimani and martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, may heaven be your place, your blood won’t be spilled in vain" said Hamdan Alshadaby, a Yemeni police officer.

"Israel, Haifa, Tel Aviv, the American interests in the region, the American military bases air force and battleships, all will take their share of this revenge," he added.

Soleimani and Mohammed Ali Ebrahimi were killed in a US drone strike near Baghdad's airport last week, prompting retaliatory missile strikes in two US base in Iraq on Wednesday.
