The visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to Moscow over tensions at the Ukraine border brought 'zero results,’ presidential candidate from the 'National Rally' Marine Le Pen said during a campaign event in Toulon, in the south of France, on Friday.

Le Pen slammed Macron's mediation of the crisis on behalf of France which she said had lost much weight as a geostrategic arbiter.

Speaking following her visit to Toulon's naval base, Le Pen presented her prospective defence programme. "I will withdraw France from the military integrated command of NATO. But being conscious of a common destiny with the Euro-Atlantic community and following the steps of General De Gaulle, I will keep France in the organisation (NATO) but I will negotiate with the US a three-axes agreement - military, technical and technological - to ensure a good bilateral cooperation with the US, like the agreement of August 1967 did," she said.
