The Syria Arab Army reported deploying units and forming checkpoints along the Syrian-Turkish border area, stretching from al-Darbasiyah to Amuda, in the northern countryside of al-Hasakah Governorate, on Monday.

"Today the Syrian Arab Army have been deployed from al-Darbasiyah to Amuda along the borderline. A couple of days ago the army was deployed to Ras al-Ayn and Tal Tamr and on the highway. Of course, the operations will continue until we reach the Iraqi border. God willing, we will rescue the people from the Turkish invasion and the terrorist groups," Ali Dayoub, a Syrian military officer said.

The advancement follows the withdrawal of US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from the area in accordance with the agreement reached between Moscow and Ankara in Sochi on October 22.
