Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri-Kani said that some European parties involved in the ongoing nuclear talks were contradicting themselves in what they would say publicly versus their actions outside of negotiations, speaking from Vienna on Sunday. Bagheri-Kani gave the interview to Iranian state TV.

"Some of the statements that are heard from some actors in the negotiation scene show their contradictory behaviour. And they have to justify to their own public minds this contradictory behaviour," the Iranian diplomat explained.

Bagheri-Kani continued to outline how he saw the contradictions. "On the one hand, they claim that they are seeking JCPOA revival and that they are seeking to ensure that all parties to the JCPOA return to their obligations and, on the other hand, they form strategic bonds with an actor whose identity is in creating tension and destructive actions, Israel,” he said.

Iran is engaged in talks with several world powers in an attempt to revive the 2015 JCPOA nuclear deal.
