Description

After several months of interruption due to COVID-19 restrictions, hundreds joined a Fridays for Future climate march in Hamburg, on Friday.

The demand for a new climate protection law was at the centre of the rally which was held under the slogan 'together again for the climate!'

Many young demonstrators expressed their displeasure about current policies, like Josi and Annalena, saying that they are unwilling to "leave a planet that cannot be inhabited" and stating that they are not "here because politics is not acting fast enough."

One of the organisers, Annika Richman, said that she "expects a lot of motivated people," as well as "angry people who want to be outraged that nothing happens in the future and who want to show that this is our future."

Police later estimated that around 1,200 protesters had taken part in the march, according to local media, while organisers said that roughly 3,000 people attended.
