The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) kicked off in Shanghai on Wednesday, featuring up to 3,500 exhibitors from all over the world to present some of the most groundbreaking products and services.

Footage shows a series of unique electric cars, vehicles and robots with cutting-edge technologies on display at Shanghai's National Exhibition and Convention Centre as visitors wander through the exposition.

Yamaha, one of Japan's top car manufacturers, presented its high-tech vehicles, including the Tricera, a 'three-wheel open-top electric autocycle'.

"The stability and fun of driving this car are that it can be switched into two driving modes while driving. One is the reverse position mode and the other is the same position driving mode," shared Qin Hao, a Yamaha representative.

"One of the biggest features of the CIIE is that it receives very high attention from the media. Every year, many visitors come to our booth to see our exhibits, which is of great help to our brand promotion," he continued.

This year's CIIE drew 3,496 exhibitors from 129 nations and regions, with 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders attending the event, according to local media. The expo offers glimpses of over 400 high-tech innovations.

The 2024 CIIE takes place from November 5-10. Since 2018, the CIIE has provided global businesses and investors with a major platform for international collaboration, driving the reform and high-quality growth of various industries.
