Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at the German Chancellery for the Normandy Four talks in Berlin, Wednesday evening.

Security measures were high, while traffic was brought to a standstill in anticipation of Putin's arrival.

At around 18.30h local time, three Russian motorcades, escorted by dozens of police vehicles, arrived at the chancellery, each one coming from a different direction.

Along with Putin, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will take part in the talks.

The resolution of the conflict in eastern Ukraine will be under discussion, and all four heads of state are due to evaluate the progress of implementation of the Minsk agreement and discuss further steps towards resolving the ongoing conflict.
