Description

Left-wing counter-protesters traded insults with supporters of US President Donald Trump in Washington DC on Wednesday, as thousands of descended on the US capital for a second 'Million MAGA' march to show support for Trump.

Counter-protesters could be seen haranguing people they believed to be members of the Proud Boys, and they also exchanged insults with supporters of the president while lines of police kept the groups separate. Some counter-protesters were seen being detained by the police.

Saturday's event, which was organised in order to show support for Trump and his unproven claims of fraud in the US presidential election, came as the US Supreme Court rejected unanimously a lawsuit brought by Texas, and backed by the president, that aimed to invalidate the results in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin; states which Trump lost.

Former Trump aide Michael Flynn, who was recently pardoned by Trump, spoke at the rally on the National Mall, with the president also performing a surprise fly-over in a helicopter, much to the delight of his supporters.
