Description

The extent of damage to the Sabha al-Harazin school in Gaza City was visible in footage recorded on Thursday following Israeli shelling during the recent escalation of hostilities with Palestine.

Several exploded shell casings could be seen around classrooms and desks, with trails of rubble, holes in walls and debris scattered around.

"The school is not fit for teaching. All the classes are destroyed, water and electricity cables are out," said Zayed Al-Aidi, an employee at the school.

An Egyptian-mediated ceasefire was reached between Israel and Palestinian militants last week, bringing to an end the worst outbreak of violence since 2014. Hostilities left 12 Israelis and 248 Palestinians dead after 11 days of violence.
