A Wisconsin judge has refused to raise bail and to issue a new arrest warrant for Kyle Rittenhouse, who is charged with killing two people during riots in Kenosha last summer, speaking at a virtual hearing on Thursday.

The district attorney requested, "the court to impose a consequence for the defendant's violation of the bond, which has been admitted by the defence, to increase his bond by 200,000 dollars." Rittenhouse, who is currently out on bail after an internet funding campaign enabled him to pay his $2 million (1.65 million euros) bond, failed to report a change of address after moving.

"I don't have the authority to issue the warrant the district attorney is talking about, and I don't agree with his analysis of the procedure for getting the bond changed," Kenosha County Circuit Judge Schroeder said.

Rittenhouse is accused of shooting three men during protests in Kenosha following the police shooting of Jacob Blake. The three alleged victims were Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, who were killed, and Gaige Grosskreutz, who was seriously wounded.
