Description

Russian Ambassador to the US Antoly Antonov arrived at New York City’s John F. Kennedy airport, Sunday, after leaders of Russia and the US agreed to return their envoys at last week’s Geneva summit.

Antonov was seen walking into the arrival area of the airport after the flight from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo hub landed in the city. The Russian ambassador is then expected to travel to Washington’s embassy.

US Ambassador to Moscow John Sullivan who left Russia in April will return to Moscow as well, US embassy in Moscow’s spokesperson Jason P. Rebholz tweeted on Saturday.

Antonov was recalled in March for consultations after newly elected US President Joe Biden accused Russia of cyberattacks and electoral interference in the US.

On Wednesday Biden and Putin held talks in Geneva and agreed to return their top diplomats to Moscow and Washington.
