Description

Protesters were seen gathering near Froedtert Hospital in Kenosha, where Jacob Blake, a black man shot by police, remained hospitalised in serious condition, Thursday.

Gregory Bennet, one of the activists said, "I don't feel safe unless I have my vest on. If they can do it to a loving father than what makes you think they can't do it to a black man in a suit."

Kenosha has become the latest hotspot of protests against racism and police brutality after a 29-year-old black man identified as Jacob Blake was shot several times in the back by an officer identified as Rusten Sheskey, a seven-year veteran of the Wisconsin police force, on Sunday.

Investigators say the officers responded to calls of a domestic incident and attempted to arrest Blake beside his car using a taser but were unsuccessful. Blake walked away from the officers, opened his drives side door, and leaned forward. His children were in the car at the time.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation released the first details of its investigation into the case and released a statement from Blake admitting to having a knife, which was found on the driver's side floorboard.
